FOAM KIDDIE LIGHTSABERS
Materials:
1 - Foam Pool Noodle
Black Duct Tape
Silver Duct Tape
Utility Knife
*These instructions will produce 2 Kiddie Sabers.
1.) Remove the label from the pool noodle.
Instructions
2.) Measure Pool Noodle, & mark the halfway point to cut
it into 2 pieces.
3.) Be Sure to mark the newly cut ends. These are the
ones you will be covering for the hilts.
4.) Use the Duct Tape to fashion a hilt decoration for the
Saber. Lengthwise strips, wrapping around the noodle
form a nice base.
5.) Be sure to cover the bottom end. One way is with
strips of Duct Tape
, cut in half, and affixed in an
overlaying star pattern.
6.) Now is the time to get creative. Just like the Jedi,
customize your Kiddie Sabers to fit the wielder.
The idea for these was not mine, but some enterprising folks at
Celebration IV in Los Angele
s, May 2007. I first saw these in
the backpacks s
ome people lugged around as they sold Kiddie
Lightsabers for $10-15 each. If you shop the dollar stores, or
even Wal-Mart, you won't spend more than $2 total to make 2
Foam Lightsabers. Please share these instructions with any
S
tar Wars Fan Parent you know to help them bring the fun to
their kids on a fair budget.

One other note, I found actual, shiny Silver Duct Tape at
Wal-Mart. So, be sure to not settle for the dull gray stuff, if you
can.
May the Force be with
you...always.
