ZOO'S 2005 DRAGON CON REPORT
Well, Dragon*Con 2005 has come and gone, and my life will never be the same! This was the most amazing
con I have ever been to in my life. People every where, crowds, parties, parades, costumes and panels...
This place had it all! Atlanta is invaded every year over Labor Day weekend by Freaks, Geeks and Goths of
all shapes and sizes and they seem to love it! In the food court of the mall I spotted a table full of celebrating
Klingons after their beauty pagent, 3 Jedi eaiting KFC, a gaggle of Goth's drinking coffee, a butcher girl, a
Padme and a badly dressed pirate scattered among the rest of the geekish kind.

Day 1 - Friday: I spent it in airports and managed to miss the Rebel Legion Dinner. However, it was not a
total loss, as I was able to party until the wee hours of the morning and caught a panel w/ the creators of
"Revelations" and finally saw the fan film as well. All in all, it was a better day than a Mormon wedding.

Day 2 - Saturday: Starts bright and early in the morning for me, as I had to get dressed for the D*Con
Parade, where I would be marching with the Rebel Legion and our 3 Wookiees. This was followed by a few
minutes to re-hydrate at the Marriott before lining up to march over to the Sun Trust building for the RL
Photo Shoot. Not only was Rouge Squadron represented @ D*Con, we outnumbered the guys 2-1. This was
followed by a long, cold shower. Atlanta heat + X-Wing Pilot gear = "I recognized your foul stench when I
came onboard." After that it was hanging out, wandering and waiting for
le Queen to arrive from Utah,
followed by more hanging out, a trip through the red-light district to the grocery store, some late night
costuming, and general happiness.

Day 3 - Sunday: It was a slow morning, and I barely got ready in time for my shift at the RL Table. As soon
as I got back from my shift, I was informed that the "Kriff This!" crowd had carried on w/o me. However, I was
also informed that "YOU WILL BE WEARING IT" by a diminutive royal covered in blood. The rest of the night
involved wandering around in costume and catching the Firefly panel (which was entertaining, even for
someone who hadn't seen Firefly).

Day 4 - Monday: A good portion of this day was spent packing up and getting out of the room at the Hyatt.
Then we went to raid the Dealer's Rooms. This was where a most auspicious T-Shirt was purchased, and it
was good. The con is pretty dead on Monday, but the best part was the realization that the National Baptists
Conference was checking into the hotels as the Freaks, Geeks and Goths were checking out.

Below are a few of the pictures from the weekend. There will be more coming as well, so stay tuned!
If Superheroes are your thing,
you can find them all @ D*Con
This was the view from my room... It
was only quiet in the lobby of the
Hyatt was from 6-8AM
Devo - Where are they now?
Well, mostly naked and running
through the halls of D*Con
There are no shortages of
bodyguards or bodies to guard at
D*Con
And some of the costumes should
never see the light... Especially
something like this.
Costuming @ D*Con is on a whole
other level.
The halls of D*Con are filled w/
Childhood Fantasies come to life.
It was WAAAAY past Stewie's
bedtime, and so his head popped
off.
Even Sadaam gets to experience
D*Con... I think he was looking for
the Hall of Virgins.
On a mission from God... No wait
that was for costuming.. Anyway,
we found a "Sign."
Arriving late due to family stuff,
Kreleia diligently prepares the
blood for Insane Alice.
D*Con is like the holy lands for
Broads... There's one of these
guys on every floor of the Con!
